Am I allowed to bring my rescue backpack for avalanches?

Rescue backpacks for avalanches are allowed as a carry-on item and as a checked baggage item, limited to one rescue backpack per passenger.

  • Equipped with a pyrotechnic trigger mechanism containing less than net 200 mg of Division 1.4S explosives and less than 250 ml of compressed gas in Division 2.2.
  • The bag must be packed so that it cannot be activated accidentally.
  • The air bags inside the backpack should be fitted with pressure-release valves and terminals must be isolated.
